Independent Women’s International Film Contest

connected with an Itinerant Festival

with the theme of

EXPERIENCES OF FEMININE FREEDOM

   The Contest is for women worldwide, both professional and amateur and is divided into:

HISTORIES

screenplays, with two sections:

SHORT

or works of less than 60 minutes

FEATURE FILMS

for works of more than 60 minutes.

DOCUMENTS:

documentaries, interviews, art videos, archives’ editing…

   The works, subtitled in Italian if the original language is not Italian, must be on DVD.

   The works, with the undersigned registration form, must be submitted in 5 copies before January 31 , 2008,  to:

   The ITINERANT FESTIVAL will begin between March and April, 2008. This is an absolute novelty and we will extend  evaluation of the movies to a vast group of women.

   For six months, public projections will be organized, orchestrated and managed on the premises of  women’s organizations, by Libreria delle Donne of Bologna, Circola Alice Guy of Cagliari, Città Felice of Catania, Le Città Vicine of Catanzaro, Terradilei of Fabro Scalo, Arcilesbica of Florence, the Associazione La Merlettaia of Foggia, Libreria delle Donne of Milan, Libreria delle Donne Evaluna of  Naples, Associazione Mezzocielo of Palermo, Casa delle Donne of Pesaro, Casa Internazionale delle Donne of Rome, Galleria delle Donne-Sofonisba Anguissola of Turin, Progetto Donna of  Trieste, Centro Idea Donna of  Venice - Mestre.

  At the end of each spectacle, those attending will express their opinion by a vote. The votes will be collected and sent before August 10, 2008, to Contest Headquarters.

   During the last week of August, 2008, the final stage of the Contest will take place at the Masseria Le Sciare of Melendugno, in Salento’s peninsula. After another local projection, the final voting will occur followed by an official proclamation of the winners.

 There are six money prizes, two for each section. First prize is 5.000 €, and second prize is 3.000 €.
